Cubed Home Field Advantage at the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 in Delhi.
Australia won the gold medal beating India in the men’s hockey finals. The finals were carried out on the new POLIGRAS hockey turf in the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, often referred to as “The Temple of Indian Hockey”. Named after the legendary hockey player and Olympian Major Dhyan Chand, the stadium has hosted major hockey events including IX Asian Games Hockey and Hero Honda FIH Hockey World Cup 2010 prior to the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010.
The stadium boasts of two brand new POLIGRAS hockey turfs. What a lucky coincidence the hockey results indicate, taking into account that it is an Australian hockey pitch system which has been installed by an Indian Sport Surface Construction Company. The results get peculiar when considering that it was a superintendent from New Zealand supervising the installation of the hockey pitch.
Here are the results in short: AUSTRALIA GOLD, INDIA SILVER, NEW ZEALAND BRONZE!
